What the official test covers

The Mauritius Police Force says the test checks a learner’s ability to read and understand traffic signs, knowledge of road rules, and knowledge of traffic signals given by drivers and police.

The first five questions are sample questions. A pass requires 29 correct answers from the remaining 35 questions, rather than a pass mark calculated over all 40 screens.

A focused revision checklist

Keep your revision focused on the scope named by the official guidance. The goal is to understand the reason behind a road sign, rule or signal—not to memorise an unverified question list.

  • Recognise traffic signs and understand the instruction each one gives
  • Review core road rules and how they apply in a real driving situation
  • Understand traffic signals given by drivers and police
  • Practise reading a question carefully before choosing an answer

Online practice and downloadable material

The official theory stage is computerised, but AutoEcole.mu does not present an unofficial practice page or PDF as the official test. Use study material to build understanding, then rely on the Mauritius Police Force guidance for the confirmed test scope and current process.

What happens after you pass

After successful completion of the audio-visual test, you may request an appointment for a practical driving test. The appointment is subject to eligibility and availability, so keep the confirmation email and follow the official instructions for your selected date.

Use preparation resources responsibly

Practice can make the format less intimidating, but only official guidance defines the test requirements. Use theory resources to understand the Highway Code and road signs, then check the current official information before booking.
